A pond can hold plenty of fish and still fall short of its potential.

I recommend using “introducing carefully selected new genetics can reduce the risk of a restricted breeding pool”rather than stating that every established pond is inbred or genetically stagnant. Inbreeding is possible in small or bottlenecked fish populations, but it cannot be diagnosed merely from the pond’s age or poor fishing.
